biography

Léo Orta
B. 1993, France

Léo Orta (b. 1993) is a French designer and artist, known for his multidisciplinary creations combining design, art and performance.

A graduate of the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, he co-founded the OrtaMiklos collective in 2015 with Swedish designer Victor Miklos Andersen. Together, they explore an experimental approach to design, creating sculptural and narrative objects that question the boundaries between function and art.

Léo Orta also works independently, developing projects that reflect a critical reflection on ecological and social issues. In June 2023, his work was represented by Luna Laffanour for the downtown+ ‘trônes’ exhibition, where he presented creations blending conceptual audacity and visual narrative.

Bringing together craftsmanship, modern technologies and a playful aesthetic, Léo Orta is a rising figure in contemporary design, hailed for his distinctive visual language and ability to push the boundaries of the discipline.
