biography

Ellen Pong
B. 1994, United States

Ellen Pong (b. 1994) is an American designer and artist, originally from the West Coast, raised in a suburb near Seattle and currently living in Queens, New York.

With a degree in Art History from the University of California at Berkeley, she is developing a self-taught practice that combines sensory observations from her childhood in the Pacific Northwest and urban life in New York.

Her work, which includes furniture, lighting and objects, is characterized by a playful, reflective approach. Pong explores the tensions between natural influences and urban complexity to create unique, often exuberant and sensual pieces.

She has had a solo show at Superhouse in New York and participated in group shows, including ‘trônes’ by downtown+ (Paris, France), as well as exhibitions at Emma Scully Gallery and Objective Gallery in New York, and Marta in Los Angeles. His work is part of several important private collections.
