Johan Larnouhet is a French painter born in Marseille. He studied at the Beaux-Arts de Marseille before continuing at the Beaux-Arts de Paris and completing an exchange at HFBK Hamburg. He now lives in Paris and works in Ivry-sur-Seine.
His work explores space and perception, shifting from enclosed interiors to ever-changing urban landscapes. Balancing representation, abstraction, and scale, he often depicts figures seen from behind, inviting contemplation. His portraiture, marked by rich color and texture, adds depth and immediacy to his subjects.
He has participated in group exhibitions in Paris, including *Dans les yeux d’Elsa* (2023), Galerie Mathilde Le Coz (2022), S/D (2021), Espace Bertrand Grimont (2020), Vitrine 65 (2019), and Espace Arondit (2019). More recently, his work has gained international recognition, notably through an exhibition at Mendes Wood DM in Brussels.
